Services for infants and toddlers
with special needs and their families

Infants are active learners from birth. Sometimes, perhaps because of a disability or serious illness, a child may need extra help in developing the skills needed to learn and grow. This help can come from the play-based Early Intervention Program operated by the Lucas County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.

We help parents learn more about their child's abilities, make decisions about goals for their child, and discover ways to encourage their child's growth and development. Assessments are free and comprehensive.

All our Early Intervention Specialists are state certified.
